14-Day Lahaul-Spiti Circuit
A slower Himalayan circuit that moves through Kinnaur, Spiti, and Lahaul before returning via Jispa. This route blends culture, dramatic landscapes, high mountain passes, and quiet village life, making it ideal for travellers who want depth rather than speed.
Day 1 – Reach Narkanda
Drive through Shimla and Kufri to Narkanda. Visit Hatu Peak for wide mountain views and spend time around the calm Thanu Jubbar Lake.
Day 2 – Narkanda to Sangla and Chitkul
Enter Kinnaur Valley via Rampur. Pass the Karcham project, explore Sangla village, stop at Rakchham, and continue to Chitkul near the Indo-Tibet border.
Day 3 – Chitkul to Kalpa
Travel via Reckong Peo with stops for valley viewpoints and views of the Kinnaur Kailash range. Optional extra day for a trek to Yulla Kanda.
Day 4 – Kalpa Region
Take in sunrise views over Kinnaur Kailash, visit Kalpa Monastery, and enjoy a relaxed day before moving deeper into Spiti.
Day 5 – Kalpa to Pooh
A scenic high-altitude drive with monastery visits and expansive mountain views along the Sutlej Valley.
Day 6 – Pooh to Tabo
An adventurous stretch via Nako Lake, Khab Sangam, and Malling Nala. Visit Gue Monastery with its preserved mummy before reaching Tabo.
Day 7 – Tabo to Mudh via Dhankar
Explore Tabo Monastery, visit Dhankar Monastery, and enter Pin Valley for an evening in Mudh village.
Day 8 – Mudh to Kaza
Drive through rugged Spiti terrain with stops at waterfalls and eroded rock formations before reaching Kaza.
Day 9 – Around Kaza
Visit Key Monastery, Hikkim Post Office, and Komic village for high-altitude cultural experiences.
Day 10 – More of Spiti
Explore Langza, Kibber, and Chicham Bridge. Fossil fields, high villages, and clear night skies define this part of the journey.
Day 11 – Kaza to Chandrataal
Travel via Losar and Kunzum La to Chandrataal Lake. Weather conditions guide this day, so flexibility helps.
Day 12 – Chandrataal to Jispa
Drive via Batal, Gramphu, Koksar, and Sissu. Stop at the Chandra–Bhaga Sangam before reaching Jispa.
Day 13 – Around Jispa
Day trips toward Shinku La, Baralacha La, Suraj Tal, and Deepak Tal. A relaxed evening by the Bhaga River.
Day 14 – Jispa to Chandigarh
Cross the Atal Tunnel toward Manali and continue onward, completing the Himalayan circuit.
